I defended my PhD thesis on September 17, 2020, at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). The president of my jury, Sofia Olhede, and the examiners Łukasz Kidziński, Shahin Tavakoli, and Stephan Morgenthaler as well as my thesis advisor, Victor Panaretos, gave me constructive feedback and I thank them for the overall pleasant experience. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the defence had to take place virtually on Zoom which made me a bit nervous but at the end it wasn’t a nuisance at all.
Having defended my thesis I’ve fulfilled all the requirements to be awarded the degree of Docteur ès Sciences (PhD). However, I’m getting the title officially only during the graduation ceremony (the so called public defence) taking place in winter 2021. In the meantime, I’m staying at EPFL until December to finish my work on some ongoing projects and, afterwards, I’m ready for the job market. #opentowork
Edit: I held the public defence of my thesis on March 5th, 2021, hence I’m officially a doctor.
